The Digestive System
The digestive system is responsible for digesting and storing food, transferring nutrients to the body, and eliminating waste and absorbing water. It is made up of the digestive tract, which is a hollow organ joined in a long twisting tube that goes from the mouth to the anus, and other organs that help the body break down and absorb food. Some of the organs in the digestive system are the stomach, the liver, and the small and large intestines. These are the organs that help us break down the food we eat and digest it easily.
